Abstract:2 males of Protobothrops maolanensis Yang, Orlov and Wang, 2011 were collected from Nonggang National Nature Reserve, Longzhou County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in October 2011. The two specimens were identified to Protobothrops maolanensis, but some characters are intermediate between P. maolanensis and P. trungkhanhensis Orlov, Ryabov and Nguyen, 2009, indicated that the taxonomy of P. maolanensis and P. trungkhanhensis should be studied further.
