Abstract:The taxonomic status of Fu snaks in Xinglong, Hebei province was reported by some foreign authors in beginning of last century. However, there was no more related species study in China since then. The Fu snakes species in Wulingshan is not a uniform specie or subspecies, because of the differences of their morphology, habit and distribution. In this paper, we suggested that Fu snakes should be classified as 2 species: Gloydius brevicaudus and G. intermedius. Thus, the record of G. intermedius in Hebei province should be recovered.
