A Revised Species List of Amphibians in Guizhou Province

Abstract:Based on the latest researches on the taxonomy and phylogeny of amphibians, an updated species list of amphibian species in Guizhou Province (China) was provided in this study. To the date of 31 January 2020, 97 amphibian species belonging to 30 genera, 11 families, and 2 orders, including 20 species endemic to Guizhou Province, were recorded in Guizhou. Compared to amphibian species records in the Amphibian Fauna of Guizhou (1986), we added 35 species, excluded 1 species, and renamed 38 species in this species list. According to the animal geographical regions of China, the amphibian species in southwest China and in the central-south China accounted for the biggest proportion, followed by the central-south-southwest China species and the central China species, and the south China had the least amphibian species. Moreover, there was also 1 invasive species. Finally, according to Red List of China's Vertebrates,there were 3 Critically Endangered, 6 Endangered, 21 Vulnerable, 12 Near Threatened, 36 Least Concerned, and 5 Data Deficient.
